Here are some of the latest WWE rumors that are floating around.
5) Doudrop’s Future
On December 6th, WWE filed to trademark ‘Piper Niven’.
This was the name of Doudrop (before WWE changed her name). Could this be a hint that she will be changing her name soon on WWE programming? We will have to wait and see.
My Take:
- I hope it happens. Doudrop is a terrible name.
4) Backstage Note On WWE Contracts
According to Dave Meltzer in the latest edition of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, most WWE Superstars no longer have downside guarantees in their contracts. Most WWE Superstars are strictly on salary and no longer earn extra from things like merchandise and ticket sales. This is not the case for all of the talent though, as some of the top Superstars have different structures in their contracts.
It was also noted by Meltzer that the guaranteed money that talent is making is higher than it has ever been.
My Take:
- I feel like if you are a lower card talent, you are fine with the salary. If you are a top dog that is selling a ton of stuff, you would be pissed to be strictly on salary.
