Rumor Roundup: Backstage Notes About Booking Frustration In WWE, Brock Lesnar’s Schedule, More

Here are some of the latest WWE rumors that are floating around.

5) Backstage Note On WWE 2k22

According to Sports Gamers Online, the WWE 2k22 DLC plans were ruined due to Superstars getting released several months ago. This led to the game getting delayed.

Here is what the site wrote:

Originally, the first DLC package was set to be based around former NXT North American champion Bronson Reed. Unfortunately, when he was let go, along with a number of other NXT superstars, DLC plans for WWE 2K22 were blown up.

SGO was told that of a minimum of four released superstars from August 6 were slated to be DLC for the upcoming game. Though names weren’t disclosed, looking at some of the names that were let go — Mercedes Martinez, Bronson Reed, Tyler Rust, Leon Ruff, and more — it’s easy to figure out some of the expected names.

With the releases, the development team at Visual Concepts along with publisher 2K Sports was left scrambling for DLC plans. I was told that at least two DLC packages were scraped over the last four months.

My Take:

  • Imagine how angry some of these video game producers must have been. Spend all this time working on creating Bronson Reed for the game only for him to be released.

4) Brock Lesnar’s Schedule

It looks like Brock Lesnar will be taking part in the 2022 Royal Rumble PPV.

Tickets go on sale for the Royal Rumble PPV this week and Brock Lesnar is being advertised for the event.

My Take:

  • I am intrigued to see what happens with Brock. If he wins the title at Crown Jewel, this will make his appearance at the Rumble PPV obvious. If he loses, he might take part in the Rumble match itself.
