Rumor Roundup: Backstage Notes On Omos’ Future, Roman Reigns’ Merch Sales, More

Here are some of the latest WWE rumors that are floating around.

5) Update On Johnny Gargano

According to Dave Meltzer in the latest edition of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Johnny Gargano’s contract with WWE will expire on December 3rd.

Here is what Meltzer wrote:

There is nothing at all to that right now in the sense he’s with NXT and he’s got stuff written in for future shows and nobody internally has been alerted that anything has changed with his status. But his current contract does expire on 12/3

My Take:

  • Gargano to AEW could be very interesting. It feels like Gargano has done everything possible in NXT. It seems like it is either time for the main roster or for him to leave to AEW. We will have to wait and see what happens.

4) Roman Reigns’ Merch Sales

According to WrestlingNews.co, Roman Reigns is now the all-time leader in merchandise sales for a heel in WWE.

Here is what the site wrote:

WWE management is said to be very happy with Reigns as a heel and he is the top merchandise seller. We were told that he is the all-time merchandise seller among top heel wrestlers in the history of the company. One source told us that his merchandise sales are at the level of John Cena and it’s more impressive because Cena sold a ton of merchandise as a babyface while Reigns is supposed to be a despised heel.

My Take:

  • This isn’t a big surprise to me because Reigns is killing it right now with his character. Good for him.
