Here are some of the latest WWE rumors that are floating around.
5) Reason Why NXT Has Shortened Entrances
In the latest edition of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Dave Meltzer noted that NXT has recently shortened their ring entrances because of Shawn Michaels. The idea is to get more time for in-ring action. Shawn’s wife also brought up that NXT’s lengthy entrances allow for viewers to switch stations.
Here is what Meltzer wrote:
One of the reasons the ring entrances have been cut back on as far as time on the NXT TV show is Shawn Michaels felt that long ring entrances gave the viewers more time to check out AEW. Even though that’s no longer an issue, because Michaels is Paul Levesque’s main guy, they have done it with the idea of getting more time for in-ring and angles. Whether this is true or not, within the company the story that has gone around is that it was Rebecca, Shawn’s wife, who was watching the show and told him she thought the ring entrances were too long and giving people too much time to switch stations, and he brought that up to Levesque.
My Take:
- I did find that they had a few too many lengthy entrances. More in-ring action sounds good to me.
4) USA Network Unhappy With FOX Getting A Hell In A Cell Match
According to Andrew Zarian of the Mat Men Podcast, the USA Network was not happy with FOX getting a Hell in a Cell match on their network. This came when Roman Reigns faced Rey Mysterio on Smackdown.
Here is what Zarian said:
“I can tell you for a fact that USA Network is very unhappy that the Hell in a Cell match is happening on SmackDown. I’m not gonna say they are fuming but they are very unhappy about it.”
My Take:
- It will be interesting to see what the USA Network gets in return for RAW. I am expecting a big match or special.
