Rumor Roundup: Interesting Idea Pitched For Big E, Scrapped Hell In A Cell Match, More

Here are some of the latest WWE rumors that are floating around.

5) Backstage Note On ‘The Diamond Mine’

According to Sean Ross Sapp on Fightful Select (subscribe here), the NXT debut of ‘The Diamond Mine’ was pushed back on a handful of occasions.

It was also noted that Tessa Blanchard or Parker Boudreaux were never planned to be involved. Here is what Sapp wrote:

The Diamond Mine made their long awaited debut on NXT, which we’re told was a big part of NXT increasing their focus on the Cruiserweight Division throughout the summer. Fightful has learned that Diamond Mine has been planned for months, even well before Roderick Strong “quit” in storyline on NXT TV. There were actually plans to debut the stable well before, but it was moved back on more than one occasion for it to take center stage on an episode of NXT. We’ll reiterate at no point during any parts of the planning to involve Tessa Blanchard or Parker Boudreaux, which were purely fueled by fan speculation. We have heard that other members had been discussed, however.

My Take:

  • I am excited to see more from them over these upcoming weeks.

4) John Cena Return Update

John Cena was recently a guest on the Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon. During this, he was asked about the rumors that he will be returning to WWE soon.

Here is what Cena said:

“Those rumors are true. I’ll definitely be back to the WWE, I just don’t know when.”

My Take:

  • To me, this confirms that Cena will be back for Summerslam. The rumor mill suggests that WWE is planning to bring him back for the event. This tease solidifies it for me as I don’t think he would tease this if he wasn’t coming back for another year.
