3) Backstage Note On Sami Zayn’s Contract
Sean Ross Sapp on Fightful Select (subscribe here) provided a small update on Sami Zayn’s contract. He asked WWE and was told that Zayn’s deal will not be expiring in the fall.
Here is what Sapp wrote:
In reaching out to WWE sources about Zayn’s contract and the length of it, all we were told is “It’s not up in the fall.” Zayn has not commented on the matter as of yet.
My Take:
- With the rise of AEW, contract news is going to be a hot topic over the next while. Strap yourself in.
2) Mick Foley Has Backstage Heat In WWE
On the Mat Men Pro Wrestling Podcast, Andrew Zarian noted that Mick Foley has some heat in WWE. This comes after he put out a video that said WWE has a problem with AEW.
Here is what Zarian said:
“I can tell you that people are very unhappy in WWE that he put that video out.”
My Take:
- I kind of get it because Foley is paid by WWE as a legend and it is not the best look for him to pump up competition. Still, Foley did not lie with his comments.
