Here are some of the latest WWE rumors that are floating around.
5) Backstage Note On Ric Flair’s Departure From WWE (Part 1)
On Fightful Select (subscribe here), Sean Ross Sapp provided some more details about Ric Flair’s departure from WWE.
Here is what Sapp wrote:
Fightful and Wrestling Inc jointly reported today that Ric Flair has obtained his WWE release and it was granted by the company. WWE sources have indicated that Flair grew frustrated with certain booking decisions on the show, and contacted Vince McMahon directly about it to voice his issues and ask for his release. Flair hadn’t been on WWE programming in quite some time, but we’re told the booking issues he didn’t like were fairly recent. Flair had been outspoken about his disdain of the Lacey Evans storyline earlier this year.”
My Take:
- I am interested to see where Flair goes next. Maybe a move to AEW as an on-screen character? We will have to wait and see.
4) Backstage Note On Ric Flair’s Departure From WWE (Part 2)
According to Dave Meltzer on Wrestling Observer Radio, Ric Flair recently sent a text message to complain about Charlotte Flair’s booking.
Here is what Meltzer said:
“He sent messages, I think it was text messages. He had sent a message to Vince McMahon, and it was basically complaining about Charlotte Flair’s booking and her situation. Now he’s gone. I’ve seen it said it was his decision to leave, but I just know from people who I know who are closer to this situation than I am that say that it was Vince’s decision.”
My Take:
- Interesting if true. I am not sure what is to complain about Charlotte’s booking though as she is constantly one of the most protected wrestlers they have.
