Rumor Roundup: Plans Scrapped For Aleister Black, Superstars Unhappy About Extra Training, More

Here are some of the latest WWE rumors that are floating around.

5) Backstage Note On Aleister Black’s Release From WWE

According to Dave Meltzer in the latest edition of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, WWE had new entrance music made for Aleister Black. This was prior to releasing him from the company.

Here is what Meltzer wrote:

The angle wasn’t followed up on during the 5/28 show and Black wasn’t on that show, so they did likely make the decision between those two dates. They also just commissioned new entrance music for him for his planned return.

My Take:

  • It does seem like they released Aleister super suddenly. He was also involved in that recent storyline with Big E that they have to now drop. An odd decision in my eyes.

4) Backstage Note On The Possible WWE-NJPW Deal

According to Dave Meltzer in the latest edition of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, the potential deal between WWE and NJPW would be more focused around NXT than the WWE main roster.

Here is what Meltzer wrote:

The deal talked about would have been more likely be NXT focused and would have things beneficial for both sides and it’s not like WWE is going to buy New Japan or bring in Kazuchika Okada to job for Randy Orton or all the crazy speculation from the past week.

My Take:

  • Just imagine an NXT Takeover event that features NJPW vs NXT matches. Would be incredible.
