5) Backstage Note On Becky Lynch’s Heel Turn
According to Dave Meltzer in the latest edition of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Becky Lynch was inspired by Roman Reigns’ recent heel turn. This inspired her to turn heel for her own return.
Here is what Meltzer wrote:
Lynch had asked to return as a heel. Some have said in the company she was inspired by Reigns, and the reality is to many, being a heel is more fun. Of course, the last time she tried to go heel, she became the most popular wrestler in the company and the hottest woman wrestling star the company had ever had.
My Take:
- Hard to blame her. Roman is arguably doing the best work of his career right now.
4) Backstage Note On Bianca Belair’s Loss
According to Dave Meltzer in the latest edition of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, the idea behind Becky Lynch winning quickly at Summerslam was to generate sympathy for Bianca Belair.
Here is what Meltzer wrote:
People took it as a burial of Belair, but the idea was by beating her fast you were supposed to get sympathy on her with the idea that she didn’t deserve that.
My Take:
- I am not sure about this. It did piss people off but we will have to wait and see if Bianca gets elevated over the next few months.
