3) Backstage Note On AJ Styles
According to Sean Ross Sapp on Fightful Select (subscribe here), WWE made it a big priority to sign AJ Styles. They wanted to sign him to a contract extension before his deal was up (and they were able to do so).
Here is what Sapp wrote:
“WWE expected Styles to have plenty of suitors, and we’re told that as in the case with some other big names in the company, wanted to get Styles’ deal extended before he could even hit free agency to talk to anyone else. Styles is said to be very happy in the company, and has mentioned numerous times that he’d like to work for WWE after his wrestling career.”
My Take:
- Happy to see that Styles goes himself paid.
2) Backstage Note On Becky Lynch
According to Mike Johnson of PWinsider, Becky Lynch is dealing with a legitimate injury. She will be healthy in time for Wrestlemania 38, which is the good news.
Here is what Johnson wrote:
PWInsider.com is told by sources Lynch is legitimately hurt and the current expectation is that she will be able to return in about two weeks. As long as that goes according to schedule, Lynch will be good to go for Wrestlemania 38 against Belair on 4/2.
