Here are some of the latest WWE rumors that are floating around.
5) WWE Looking To Sign AEW Talent
According to Andrew Zarian on the Mat Men Podcast, WWE is going to be looking at signing some of the AEW talent whose contracts will be expiring soon. Brian Pillman Jr is a name that was mentioned specifically.
Here is what Zarian said:
“We’re approaching year three now [of AEW] so, some of these contracts are ending. I can tell you that WWE has their eyes on a lot of these guys and they would love to have them back, some of them they would have them back, but other ones they would love to have him. Brian Pillman Jr is a name they would love to have.”
My Take:
- The fit with Brian Pillman Jr would make sense. I could see WWE offering him a nice deal.
4) WWE Concerned About Another COVID-19 Shutdown
According to Andrew Zarian on the Mat Men Podcast, there is a lot of concern in WWE about them getting shut down due to COVID-19 (again). The company has apparently made secondary plans in case this happens.
Here is what Zarian said:
“Everybody is concerned, and it’s not just AEW. People in WWE are very concerned as well, and they do have secondary plans. They are in motion just in case. Do I anticipate another shutdown like we had seen? No. I don’t anticipate that. I do not think anybody anticipates that.”
My Take:
- Let’s obviously hope this doesn’t happen. Smart to have plans in place just in case though.
