Here are some of the latest WWE rumors that are floating around.
5) Backstage Note On Stone Cold At Wrestlemania 38
According to Dave Meltzer in the latest edition of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Stone Cold Steve Austin has been upping his cardio as of late. This hints at his segment with Kevin Owens being more of a fight scene and not just a quick Stunner.
Here is what Meltzer wrote:
It is being billed as the Kevin Owens talk show with Austin as guest on the Saturday show on 4/2. It is planned for more than just a stunner, although the stunner would appear to be the obvious conclusion. There was still talk about an angle leading to a match if Austin were to agree to it, but they felt they needed to announce Austin on the show this week.
What we do know is that Austin has been upping his cardio, so the plan is for a fight scene, and not just a quick stunner.
My Take:
- I would love to see Austin and Owens brawl for a bit. If we aren’t getting a full match, this would be fun.
4) Backstage Note On A Possible Wrestlemania 38 Match
Speculation is that WWE was planning Sheamus, Ridge Holland, and Butch (aka Pete Dunne) vs The New Day at Wrestlemania 38. Here is what Mike Johnson of PWinsider wrote:
The former Pete Dunne made his official Smackdown debut tonight as Butch, aligned with Sheamus and Ridge Holland.
It would appear the direction for Wrestlemania here was New Day vs. the trio at Wrestlemania 38.
This match is now in jeopardy after the injury to Big E on Smackdown.
My Take:
- Would be a decent match. I just hope that Big E is okay as that was a scary landing he had.
