Daivari Reveals The Gimmick That He Turned Down To Vince and Stephanie McMahon

Shawn Daivari was recently a guest on the Wrestling INC podcast. He was on the show to promote his wrestling school: ‘The Academy: School of Professional Wrestling’ that he runs alongside former WWE star: Mr. Kennedy.

During the podcast he was asked about a gimmick that he was pitched by Vince and Stephanie McMahon while he was in WWE (from 2004 until 2007).

Apparently, Vince wanted to repackage Daivari as ‘George Bush’ and turn his gimmick into an over-the-top American patriot.

“No, it was Vince’s idea. Stephanie’s the one who pitched it to me and I said it was a f***ing horrible idea.”

He says that after he rejected the idea, Stephanie agreed with him that it was a bad idea.

“It’s kind of like one of things where the machine is moving so fast it’s like you just throw sh*t at the wall. You don’t have time to look at what sticks.”

You can check out the podcast here.

Daivari’s younger brother Ariya currently wrestles for WWE on 205 Live. Let’s hope Vince doesn’t try to pitch the same gimmick to him…..
