Speculation On The New Plans For John Cena At Wrestlemania 35

Over the past few months, there have been plenty of rumors about John Cena and his potential opponent at Wrestlemania 35. First, a report suggested that Lars Sullivan was scheduled to face Cena at the event. It looks like those plans have been scrapped after Lars suffered an anxiety attack prior to his main roster debut.

The rumor mill then shifted to Drew McIntyre as Cena’s potential opponent. This came after they exchanged some words with one another on an episode of Monday Night RAW.

We wanted to pass along the latest speculation on Cena that is floating around.

The popular speculation going around is that we could be getting Cena vs Samoa Joe at the event for the United States Championship. Cena has been name dropped over the past few weeks on Smackdown in the United States Title picture. This includes Joe mentioning Cena in his promo backstage after winning the Title.

Cena and Joe have a long history with one another. They both started their careers together in Ultimate Pro Wrestling (UPW). Both took very different paths to get to where they are today.

If not a singles match, we could still see Cena in the United States Championship picture. Maybe we could see a potential multi-person match involving Cena, Joe, R-Truth, Mustafa Ali, Andrade, and Rey Mysterio. Would be a good option if WWE doesn’t want to do the singles match.
