Backstage Story On Matt and Jeff Hardy’s Surprise Return At Wrestlemania

Matt and Jeff Hardy made an amazing surprise return at Wrestlemania 33. They shocked the world by entering the ladder match for the RAW Tag Team Championships. Not only did they enter the match, they walked out with the titles in an incredible Wrestlemania moment.

According to Dave Meltzer on the latest Wrestling Observer Radio (subscribe here), there is a pretty cool story surrounding Matt and Jeff’s return to WWE.

The two of them hosted their ‘Broken’ tailgate party a few miles from Camping World Stadium. The tailgate event ran until 5:00 PM (EST), which is when Wrestlemania officially began. The two of them were taken to their hotel while Wrestlemania was beginning and they didn’t get to the stadium until hours after the show began.

Jeff Hardy was (legitimately) hurting a lot from the night before. In case you didn’t know, Matt and Jeff competed in a ladder match at ROH: Supercard of Honor against the Young Bucks.

Jeff Hardy reportedly told fans in the lobby of his hotel waiting for him that he needed to get some rest in his room.  Instead of going to his room for a nap, he made his way to the stadium alongside Matt for Wrestlemania.

A pretty cool tidbit of how late they actually showed up for the match. Also insane that Matt and Jeff competed in a ladder match two nights in a row.
