Charlotte Addresses WWE Officially Adding ‘Flair’ To Her Ring Name

Charlotte recently spoke with the Orlando Sentinel for an interview. She spoke on a wide variety of topics about her wrestling career past and present. One of the most interesting topics was about WWE officially adding ‘Flair’ to her last name.

Many WWE fans know that Charlotte is the daughter of legendary wrestler Ric Flair. She was not billed as ‘Charlotte Flair’ when she started in WWE and was only known as Charlotte.

WWE has subtly changed her ring name to “Charlotte Flair” over the past few months. Here is what she said in the interview about WWE changing her name:

“Obviously we haven’t shied away from being my dad’s daughter, but I think it was the company’s way of saying she can do it and she can own it. And that’s pretty cool. It’s weird to have two names now. It makes for a longer [autograph] signing. My hand’s cramping more. [laughs] But I think it was cool the company was putting that much thought into my growth and my character. It really does make a difference”
