On a recent episode of E & C’s Pod of Awesomeness, Edge and Christian both shared stories of the motivational skills of Vince McMahon. We previously covered what Vince told Edge before he cashed in his Money in the Bank contract for the first time (which you can check out here).
Christian shared a similar story of motivation from Vince before his match at Summerslam (2013) against Alberto Del Rio.
Christian says that he was watching the video package of his career backstage before his match. Vince came up and challenged him:
“I was standing at the curtain, right before I wrestled Del Rio at Summerslam for the world title. They did this big video package on my career, really gave the feeling it was an important match. I was standing there and watching the video because I hadn’t seen it. All of a sudden I feel this presence beside me. I turn my head and Vince’s head is right there. He whispers to me ‘I dare you to steal the show”
Christian says that he walked through the curtain after the match and Vince gave him a big thumbs up.
