You might remember several months ago on Smackdown Live, there was a storyline building between the Miz, Maryse, Dean Ambrose and Renee Young. This disappeared out of nowhere and instead, fans got to see the Miz and Maryse feud with John Cena and Nikki Bella.
It is unclear if WWE ever planned to have Renee Young compete in an actual match alongside Ambrose. It was just a strange coincidence that this angle was building before the eventual mixed tag team match that took place at Wrestlemania.
Dean Ambrose was interviewed by Inside The Ropes where he was asked about that storyline and Renee Young possibly wrestling. Here is what he said:
“I think it would be a… nobody would ever be able to look at her the same way again. She’s known as a bubbly, bright personality. Everybody loves Renee. She’s a sweetheart of Canada. I know a different side of her, and if that were to be unleashed, the rage and the fury of just anger and nails, if that all got on TV it might… it’s bad news, you know what I mean? It’s still a PG product and I don’t think we can have that kind of violence unleashed on any women and I don’t want to see that ugliness but I kind of do. I’ll just tell ya I fear for the poor soul who pissed her off.”

Sold! Sign me up for a Renee Young match. In all seriousness, I am a big fan of Renee and the work she does as a host. Not everyone needs to compete in the ring and I am doubtful we ever see her compete.
