Finn Balor returned from injury on the RAW after Wrestlemania 33 where he teamed with Seth Rollins to face Samoa Joe and Kevin Owens. The week after, he suffered a reported concussion in his match against Jinder Mahal after taking a forearm to the face.
Fortunately for fans of Balor, the concussion didn’t force him to miss more than a week and he was back on RAW where he defeated Curt Hawkins in quick fashion.
So what is the plan for Balor moving forward? Who will he be feuding with?
It doesn’t look like Balor will have an opponent for Payback, unless they schedule him for a last-minute squash (similar to what happened with Hawkins). Be patient fans of the ‘Demon King’ as we are likely getting a great feud for the next few months.
According to Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer (subscribe here), Finn Balor is set to feud with Bray Wyatt after the Payback PPV. This match was teased during the ‘Superstar Shake-Up’, where Bray appeared on-screen and told Finn that he would be keeping an eye on him. Wyatt currently still has to face Randy Orton in the ‘House Of Horrors’ match that will be the ending of their feud. After that, it is expected that Balor and Wyatt feud for the next few months.
This has potential to be a great feud. Mixing in Balor’s ‘Demon King’ persona with Wyatt could be a lot of fun. Balor is still technically owed a rematch from when he vacated the Universal Title but it is likely that he won’t rejoin the World Title picture until later in the year.
