Idea For A Women’s Royal Rumble This Year

The Cheap Heat podcast first brought up the idea of a potential Women’s Royal Rumble match on a recent episode. With Women’s wrestling growing leaps and bounds over the past year, could it be time to implement a Women’s version of the match that everyone loves?

This had me thinking, could this idea actually work? It would work similar to the Men’s where women from both brands would compete and the winner would earn themselves a chance at either the RAW or Smackdown Women’s Championship.

The match would not feature 30 competitors, considering there are not enough women on the roster. They could do a smaller style battle-royal with their current crop of females. Excluding the current champions, they would have:

  • Alicia Fox
  • Bayley
  • Charlotte Flair
  • Dana Brooke
  • Emma
  • Nia Jax
  • Summer Rae (unclear if she could compete due to injury).
  • Alexa Bliss
  • Carmella
  • Eva Marie
  • Naomi
  • Natalya
  • Nikki Bella

You could even call up some talent from NXT like Asuka to fill it out. WWE could even bring back a female or two from the past like they do every Royal Rumble for the men’s.

Let us know what you think in the comment section below. Would this idea water down the Royal Rumble match? Would a Women’s Royal Rumble be a good idea, yes or no?
