John Cena Is On A Huge Summerslam Losing Streak

A common joke that WWE fans make is ‘LOL Cena Wins’ in reference to John Cena winning most of his matches. Cena has been around for 15 years and has certainly won a lot more times than he has lost. It turns out that we might have found the kryptonite of ‘Super Cena’…….Summerslam!

Cena will take on Baron Corbin at Summerslam this year where he will have a chance to break his massive losing streak at the event…. So how long is this losing streak?

Cena hasn’t won at Summerslam in the past 6 years. He has wrestled in every one since 2011 and hasn’t ended up on the winning side. Here are his last 6 Summerslam matches dating all the way back to 2011:

  • 2016 – AJ Styles defeated John Cena.
  • 2015 – Seth Rollins defeated John Cena to retain the WWE Heavyweight Championship. He also won Cena’s WWE United States Title.
  • 2014 – Brock Lesnar defeated John Cena to win the WWE Heavyweight Championship.
  • 2013 – Daniel Bryan defeated John Cena to win the WWE Heavyweight Championship.
  • 2012 – CM Punk defeated John Cena and the Big Show to retain the WWE Championship.
  • 2011 – CM Punk defeated John Cena to win the undisputed WWE Championship.

The last time Cena won at Summerslam was 2010. He was a member of Team WWE (Cena, Daniel Bryan, Edge, Chris Jericho, Bret Hart, R-Truth and John Morrison) when they defeated The Nexus (Wade Barrett, Justin Gabriel, Heath Slater, David Otunga, Skip Sheffield, Michael Tarver and Darren Young).

Is Cena due for a Summerslam win against Corbin? We will have to wait and see.
