One of the big surprises on Smackdown Live this week was the return of Shelton Benjamin to WWE. Smackdown General Manager: Daniel Bryan announced that Benjamin is back and will be teaming up with Chad Gable moving forward. Benjamin was supposed to return to WWE in 2016 but a shoulder injury nixed those plans. After his recovery, he is finally back home!
One person that wasn’t happy about this was RAW General Manager: Kurt Angle. Kurt lobbied to get Benjamin on his show but was unsuccessful. Here is what he said on Instagram:
“I tried to get Shelton Benjamin on MY show. Oh well. #teamangleforever #damnyoudanielbryan”
Can’t wait until these guys get some screen time with one another at some point. Shelton also posted this about his return to WWE:
