Shinsuke Nakamura defeated Samoa Joe this weekend at NXT Takeover Brooklyn II to become the new NXT Champion. He has made quite the impact since he signed with the WWE several months ago. In a recent interview with Sports Illustrated’s Justin Barrasso, he spoke on a wide variety of topics. Nakamura praised Samoa Joe and also teased a big time Wrestlemania match.
Nakamura praised Samoa Joe after he defeated him at NXT Takeover Brooklyn II:
“Joe is special. He is a real wrestler. He knows the real techniques of how to beat an opponent. He uses an MMA technique, so it’s real fighting. Also, I know that technique, so that’s what we show in the ring when we wrestle” (Source: Sports Illustrated).
Who he would like to face at Wrestlemania:
“I’d like to fight at WrestleMania. John Cena–that’s a great choice” (Source: Sports Illustrated).

Shinsuke Nakamura vs John Cena at Wrestlemania??? Take my money… In the interview he talks about needing to improve his English before he makes the jump to the main roster. I guess this explains why he is still in NXT and not on the main roster already.
