WWE News: Backstage News On The Length Of The Goldberg vs Brock Lesnar Match At Wrestlemania 33

Brock Lesnar will challenge Goldberg for the WWE Universal Championship at Wrestlemania 33. This has been building since Survivor Series where Goldberg was able to defeat Brock Lesnar in just over a minute, surprising a large portion of the audience.

Since that match, WWE fans have only seen Goldberg wrestle for a few minutes combined in his Royal Rumble match appearance and his squash of Kevin Owens at Fastlane.

According to the latest Wrestling Observer Newsletter (subscribe here), the match between Goldberg and Lesnar at Wrestlemania 33 isn’t going to last very long. It is not likely to be a squash like we have seen Goldberg be involved in, but don’t expect it to go over 5 minutes.

The idea is that Goldberg has been built up strongly to be defeated by Lesnar on the big stage. Goldberg will retire and Lesnar will be the new WWE Universal Champion after finally beating Goldberg.

As we have noted prior, current rumors suggest that this match will be the one that closes the show over the WWE Championship match between Bray Wyatt and Randy Orton. Interesting choice by WWE if they decide to go through with a 5 minute or less match to end the night.

It will be interesting to see if WWE has some tricks up their sleeves to send the crowd how happy. I guess we will have to wait and see what happens.
