Possible Change Coming To 205 Live

205 Live premiered in November of 2016. The show hasn’t exactly been a massive success so far for the WWE. The biggest challenge of the show is getting fans of Smackdown Live to stick around to watch the high-flying Cruiserweight action.

We have seen WWE experiment with a few different things lately for the show. This includes using some main roster talent like Sasha Banks and Titus O’Neil.

Some new rumors suggest that there might be something new coming to the show.

Ryan Satin on the most recent episode of ‘the Sheet Podcast’ says that he has heard from sources that WWE is discussing adding an authority figure to 205 Live. This would (likely) be a General Manager or something similar to what we see on RAW or Smackdown Live with Daniel Bryan and Kurt Angle.

It is unclear at the moment who would fit into this role but it would be something different for the show. 205 Live at the moment is lacking a bit of direction and this could be a way for the matches to feel like they mean something.

We will have to wait and see if this comes to fruition. Good to hear that WWE is thinking about things to help the show moving forward. As always, take rumors with a grain of salt.

  1. Won’t help. It needs its own night at full sail with its own crowd. They can still work TV, just take them off one house show. If they don’t allow them to do what they do best (CWC format), it won’t get over. Vince and the company put too many restrictions on them for them to be anything spectacular… Which they were when Vince and most of the company were hands off. Ergo – CWC.

I believe it’s mostly because the cruiserweights would make the main roster look bad; But not if you separated them and placed them on their own show. Again, you could continue featuring them on raw or smackdown the way they are now… But give them their freedom and their own prime time show on the network with no restrictions.
