On Monday Night RAW this week, WWE introduced a new storyline. Corey Graves left the announce table suddenly after getting a text message. He went backstage and showed Kurt Angle his phone. Angle said that the information Graves had could potentially ruin him.
So what the heck is going on? What did Corey show Kurt that was so bad?
We don’t exactly know what was shown on the phone but here are some rumors making the rounds.
The first theory circulating among fans is that the message was from Stephanie McMahon. Stephanie has been off WWE Television since Wrestlemania 33 and this storyline could be the way to bring her back. Kurt was hired by Vince McMahon [not Stephanie] to be RAW General Manager. This could lead to tension between Angle and Stephanie moving forward.
The second theory making the rounds is that this storyline will lead to the in-ring return of Angle. Angle himself has spoken many times about his desire to return to the ring. This storyline could be WWE’s way to start the build towards that. Some fans have suggested that this might lead to a Triple H vs Kurt Angle match. Triple H and Kurt have a history from their love triangle (with Stephanie) back in the early 2000’s. The storyline was scrapped and we never really got a full resolution.

It is way too soon to tell but it seems like Stephanie McMahon will be involved in some way. WWE has intrigued viewers so far with this storyline and we will have to wait and see what ends up happening.
