The Original Plans For What Ronda Rousey’s Wrestlemania 31 Appearance Was Leading To

Ronda Rousey’s name has been a hot topic in the wrestling world over the past several weeks as rumors have began to fly about her undergoing some pro-wrestling training. This has led many to believe that we could see her involved in WWE television over the next several months.

This isn’t the first time that Ronda has been involved with WWE. She is a life-long wrestling fan and was involved at Wrestlemania 31. Ronda came from the crowd to join the Rock in his verbal battle with Triple H and Stephanie McMahon. She ended up hip-tossing Triple H and putting Stephanie in an arm-bar before letting her go.

Many fans have asked since Wrestlemania 31, what the plans were for this storyline. Was it just a cool moment for Wrestlemania, or was it leading to a match between Ronda and the Rock against Stephanie and Triple H?

According to Dave Meltzer in the latest Wrestling Observer Newsletter (subscribe here), the original plan was for that interaction at Wrestlemania to lead to a singles match. The plan was reportedly going to be Ronda Rousey vs Stephanie McMahon.

These plans obviously fell through and we never saw Ronda step inside of the ring.

If Ronda does wrestle a singles match for WWE, could we see her face Stephanie? Many fans would say that they would prefer someone like Charlotte Flair or Sasha Banks getting the rub from a potential Ronda match rather than Stephanie. Can’t say we disagree.
