Plans For Roman Reigns Now That Braun Strowman Is Injured

Braun Strowman’s injury has caused quite the stir on RAW’s main event scene at the moment. In case you missed it, it was announced that Strowman suffered a legitimate elbow injury that will require surgery. The attack from Reigns on RAW this week was WWE’s way to write him off TV.

This leaves some big holes in the plans for RAW over the next few weeks. It appeared as if Roman Reigns and Strowman were set to headline the upcoming Extreme Rules Pay-Per-View. Also, there were rumors that Strowman was set to face Brock Lesnar at the upcoming Great Balls of Fire event in July.

With the injury, WWE is forced to reshuffle their plans. So what is next for Roman Reigns now that Strowman is out?

According to some rumors floating around, Reigns could be heading into a short-term feud with Bray Wyatt for the time being.

Wyatt recently took out Finn Balor on RAW a few weeks prior and that looked to be his next feud. With the injury to Strowman, it looks like Balor could be Lesnar’s next challenger for the Universal Championship, leaving Bray without anyone to feud with.

If you are wondering why WWE wouldn’t just put Reigns against Lesnar, it seems like WWE is saving that match for a bigger show, possibly even Wrestlemania 34. With Strowman coming back in several weeks [he will likely resume feud with Reigns], WWE needs a short-term opponent and feud for Roman.

Bray and Roman feuded in 2015, which included a Hell in a Cell match.

Reminder as always to take rumors with a grain of salt. We will have to wait and see what WWE ends up deciding on RAW this week.
