Rusev has been an interesting topic of conversation over the past several weeks. It appeared as if Rusev was going to be immediately in the WWE Championship picture after he demanded a title shot from Shane McMahon for Money in the Bank. As we know now, this never ended up happening.
Here are the latest rumors on Rusev and his return to WWE television!
– Rusev was backstage for Smackdown Live this week according to PWInsider.com. He is cleared to compete and looks like creative just had nothing for him.
– There are rumors circulating that Rusev might be joining the United States Championship picture when he does return to television. It is unclear if he will join the feud between Kevin Owens and AJ Styles or wait until it is finished.
– Rusev is returning to live events this weekend. He is advertised to face Kevin Owens and Mojo Rawley for the United States Championship at local arenas.
– Rusev is also advertised to appear at Smackdown this week. It is unclear if that will be a dark match or if they will use him on television.
Will be interesting to see when WWE chooses to use him on Smackdown Live. Unfortunately, it doesn’t look like he will be in the World Title picture, at least for the time being.
