10 Things That We Learned From Smackdown Live (August 22, 2017)

1) The U.S Title Open Challenge Is Returning

This weeks episode of Smackdown Live was kicked off with United States Champion: AJ Styles. This came only a few days after he defeated Kevin Owens to retain his title. AJ received a heck of a pop from the crowd in Brooklyn.

AJ announced that the U.S open challenge would be returning to Smackdown Live. Unfortunately, Kevin Owens interrupted the very first one and spoiled the fun. Still, the open challenge looks to be returning. Plenty of fun matches to be had on a weekly basis that fans should be pumped about.

2) More Tension Teased Between Kevin Owens And Shane McMahon

A popular theory among fans is that all of this conflict between Shane McMahon and Kevin Owens will be leading to an eventual match between the two. On Smackdown Live this week we got some more build towards an eventual match between the two. Owens and Shane argued about how Shane was as referee at Summerslam.

In is unclear when they will face off, but WWE continues to tease and build it. They also had some beef at the end of the main event. Watch for this to continue to build in the upcoming weeks.
