2016 WWE Draft Date Revealed

The WWE made headlines a couple weeks ago when they announced that Smackdown would be going live on Tuesday nights starting July 19th. They announced on Monday morning that July 19th will also be the 2016 WWE Draft date. This should be a exciting day and will make the Smackdown live premiere even more exciting than it already is!

Here was their website statement:

“The destiny of all WWE Superstars will be determined when SmackDown goes live for the first time ever Tuesday, July 19, at 8/7 C on USA Network. A WWE Draft will be conducted by respective General Managers to select which Superstars will compete exclusively on Monday Night Raw or SmackDown” (Source: WWE.com).

Many thought the draft would take place the week before on RAW so it is interesting that the draft will be held on the first live Smackdown. This is a smart move by them to drive ratings up for the first live Smackdown because no doubt fans will be watching to see what brand gets who!
