His name was a combination of his father’s (Rocky Johnson) and his Grandfather’s ring name (‘High Chief’ Peter Maivia). The Rock kicks off our list of incredible Survivor Series debuts.

Rocky Maivia had his first match at the 1996 Survivor Series. He teamed with Marc Mero, Jake Roberts and The Stalker (Barry Windham) in a 4 on 4 Survivor Series elimination match. The team took on Crush, Triple H, Goldust, and Jerry Lawler.

Rocky was the sole survivor, making a big impression on the WWE audience in his first official match. You can watch the highlights of his debut here:

Ambrose, Rollins, and Reigns were revealed as the 3 men, calling themselves the Shield, brought together to rally against injustices in WWE. You can watch the highlights of their debut here:

The Shield quickly became one of the most popular factions in WWE history. All 3 guys are former World Champions and have found great success since the group disbanded.
