The Young Bucks Reveal That They Were Closer To Jumping To WWE Last Year Than You Might Think

Vice Sports recently wrote a piece on The Young Bucks titled: ‘PARTY NEXT DOOR: HOW THE YOUNG BUCKS REVOLUTIONIZED PROFESSIONAL WRESTLING’. One of the most interesting parts was when Matt Jackson revealed a conversation that the duo had with AJ Styles before he signed with WWE.

AJ Styles made the jump from New Japan Pro Wrestling to WWE in 2016. He appeared at the 2016 Royal Rumble and was joined a couple of months later by Karl Anderson and Luke Gallows.

Matt Jackson revealed in the interview with Vice that Styles had approached the Young Bucks to see if they would make the jump with him:

“When A.J. was about to leave, he pulled us aside before anybody knew anything and he asked us about our contracts. At that point, it was December and we had just signed—we signed in November”

He continued:

“He’s like, ‘You did? Ughhh.’ The idea was he was going to try to get us to walk out with him and be the guys with him… If we never signed, there’s a great chance we could have been walking out on Raw with those guys, I feel”

Pretty interesting stuff. Imagine if the Young Bucks were also on WWE TV right now?  If only they didn’t sign a month prior, the wrestling landscape could be a lot different. From all accounts the Young Bucks are happy where they are at and making a good amount of money doing their own thing. I definitely see them heading to WWE at some point.
