Mickie James recently appeared on Lilian Garcia: Making Their Way To The Ring. She discussed a wide variety of topics surrounding her wrestling career and her return to Smackdown Live. One of the most interesting parts of the interview was when she was asked about working with John Cena again.

Cena and James reportedly dated briefly during her first run with WWE. Mickie was asked if it will be awkward working with Cena and his girlfriend Nikki Bella now that she is on Smackdown Live:
“We’re all adults, and you know obviously this business is what it is. We’ve all had our share of relationships failed”
She says that wrestling is such a close-knit group and that is why you see a lot of wrestlers dating because you are on the road so many days and don’t have a chance for much of an outside life. In regards to working with Cena and Nikki Bella, Mickie says that they are all professionals:
I would hope that, and I’m pretty sure that it’s going to be pretty awesome, because I’m sure that I’m going to have to work with Nikki in the ring and I know that we could do some really amazing stuff”

Our take: Knowing WWE, we have to wonder if they will make this into a storyline at some point. WWE has a past of bringing real-life issues into the ring for content, wouldn’t be surprised if something was done between Mickie and Nikki.
