One of the best parts of the Royal Rumble match each year is seeing some surprise entrants. Sometimes we see new talent make their debuts on the big stage. Sometimes we see WWE legends return for a quick shot of nostalgia. Sometimes we even get the odd comedic entrant.

Who will be this years surprise entrant(s)?
PWInsider.com is reporting that every member of the NXT locker room will be backstage at the Rumble in case they want to use someone in the match.
Rey Mysterio’s contract is reportedly up with Lucha Underground, making him a free agent. This doesn’t confirm that he will be in the Rumble match but he will be someone to keep an eye on.
PWInsider also says that they have been asked a lot about Hulk Hogan returning and entering the Rumble. They say that he is in Los Angeles this weekend, making him an unlikely entrant.
As for Kurt Angle, we recently posted that he denied the rumors that he would be entering the match in an interview with TMZ. This could obviously be Angle trying to throw everyone off the trail. He will be the number one person to look out for on Sunday.
Kenny Omega also recently announced that he won’t be in the Rumble and has not signed with WWE. You can mark him off your list.

Our take: I am really hoping for Kurt Angle. I think it would be amazing if we could see him for one last match at Wrestlemania before he retires. It will certainly be interesting to see what happens. I am sure WWE has a couple of tricks up their sleeve. I guess we will have to wait and see!
