On May 8th, it was reported that Braun Strowman suffered an elbow injury that will require surgery. If you have been following along with our site and the latest WWE rumors, you know that Strowman was the likely next challenger for Brock Lesnar and his WWE Universal Title.

We decided to toss together a list of some of WWE’s options as back-up plans for Brock now that Strowman is injured.
The Miz
A lot of fans have been speaking highly of the Miz and his work over the past year. Could he be a potential opponent for Brock?
The promo work between him and Paul Heyman would be incredible leading up to the match. That is probably about all fans would be able to look forward to though, as an actual match between the Miz and Lesnar would be a squash.
Verdict – Not very likely, but still an option.
Bray Wyatt
Could a Bray Wyatt vs Brock Lesnar feud work? Wyatt is coming off a run with the WWE Championship and he could be a decent short-term option for WWE in this spot.
Anything is an upgrade over his recent ‘House of Horrors’ match. A title match against Lesnar (even though he will lose) could be a decent option for him. Would have been better if Wyatt still had the Wyatt Family by his side to help keep Brock at bay.
Verdict – Not very likely, but still an option.
Roman Reigns
This match would only be used if WWE was forced to do so. It has been rumored that Reigns vs Lesnar could be the main event of Wrestlemania 34. With the injury to Strowman, it leaves not only Lesnar without a first title-defense but Reigns without a feud for the time being. WWE could fast-track the Reigns-Lesnar feud for the next few months. An option, but doubtful as they will probably keep this match for a bigger show.
Verdict – Only as an emergency back-up plan by WWE
