On a recent episode of the ‘Conversations With The Big Guy’ podcast, Ryback spoke about the original plans for him at Wrestlemania 30 in New Orleans.

In case you missed it, Ryback and Curtis Axel were unsuccessful in their claim to win the WWE tag team titles at Wrestlemania 30. They faced the Usos, the Real Americans and the Los Matadores at the event on the kickoff show.
Ryback was asked about the rumors at the time about him wrestling the Ultimate Warrior at the event. He says that a Ryback vs Warrior match was actually planned several months in advance.
Here is what he said:
“Mark Carrano actually had showed me the WrestleMania card early. They kind of have an idea of what they want to do, obviously, ahead of time, and they had on it Ryback versus Ultimate Warrior. And I just said, ‘cool.’ But, in my head, at the time, it was during my heel deal, that first one, where it probably wasn’t gonna be a favorable position for me as far as all that. But I was excited, because I figured it was his one last moment in WWE. So, I thought it would be really cool. I didn’t think I would necessarily be the right guy for that, because I didn’t know anything about him. I didn’t know what kind of shape he was in, if he could wrestle or not, but I 100 percent would have done it, because I did everything that they asked me there.”
He did express some concern about the match since it would only last a few minutes but he said he would have enjoyed it for the memory. The match never came to fruition and Ryback was on the kickoff show of the event instead.

Warrior sadly passed away only a few days after Wrestlemania 30.
