Triple H Comments On Protests During The National Anthem & How WWE Would React

If you are a follower of professional sports, you know that one of the biggest topics right now has to do with protests during the National Anthem. Most prominently, in the National Football League we have seen a lot of players take a knee during the United States National Anthem to peacefully protest [if you have no idea what we are talking about, make sure to read up on the topic more].

Triple H was recently interviewed by Sky Sports where he spoke about the topic.

He gave his take and also how WWE would react if one of their Superstars wanted to peacefully protest. Here is what he said:

“I speak for myself, personally only, and if it was me I would stand for my national anthem. For my country I would stand.

But I and WWE certainly respect the rights of everybody’s first amendment right of freedom of speech, their right to peacefully protest and do what is meaningful to them. Certainly we support that.

I question whether there would be a better way to do that,  that maybe wouldn’t offend others or something else..  Surely we respect that line.”

Interesting to hear from Triple H on a topic like this because of his position within WWE. Also, WWE doesn’t usually air the National Anthem on television unless it’s a special occasion.
