Andrade ‘Cien’ Almas won the NXT Championship at NXT Takeover: WarGames. This came after he defeated Drew McIntyre in a bit of a shocking result. Triple H announced in his post-Takeover interview that McIntyre might have torn his bicep and could be out for a decent amount of time.

Let’s speculate on the NXT Championship over the next few months. Here is what we think will happen.
1) Almas holds onto the title until NXT Takeover: New Orleans. Almas is a heel, so he needs a great babyface opponent. I think that none other than Johnny Gargano could get a chance at Almas and the title in New Orleans. Gargano is the perfect babyface opponent for Almas and they already put on an awesome match back at NXT Takeover: Brooklyn III.
2) Gargano wins the title from Almas in New Orleans. I think that Almas will be on his way to the main roster soon anyways and his title reign will be a short one.
3) Gargano’s first opponent for the NXT Title will be none other than Tommaso Ciampa. The man who turned on Gargano at NXT Takeover: Chicago and broke up their friendship. Ciampa tore his ACL and isn’t expected back in the ring until March or April. Would be pretty cool if Gargano won the title and was attacked again by Ciampa. There is no question that a match between Gargano and Ciampa has money written all over it.
4) Gargano vs Ciampa for the NXT Title at the Takeover after Wrestlemania weekend.
