The next NXT Takeover event will be in Chicago on June 16th. This will be the second year in a row that WWE has brought a Takeover event to Chicago. Here are our NXT Takeover Chicago 2018 predictions for what we think will end up happening on the show.

NXT Takeover Chicago 2018 Predictions
1) Ricochet vs Velveteen Dream Will Open The Show
The WWE formula is to usually start off an event with a strong opening match. When looking at the card, I think that the match between Velveteen Dream and Ricochet has the best chance to open the show.
I think this has the chance to be a really fun match. I feel as if both guys have done a solid job of building up the storyline so far. Both guys are looking to make a name for themselves and I think Triple H gives them a chance to open up the show with a bang.
2) Ricochet Will Defeat Velveteen Dream
The match between Velveteen Dream and Ricochet could go either way. On one hand, this is Ricochet’s first singles match at a Takeover event. I could see him getting the win here. On the other hand, Velveteen Dream has lost a couple of big matches recently so this would be a big win for him.
My gut says that Ricochet wins. I have a feeling that Triple H is a major fan of Ricochet and will be pushing him to the moon. My guess is that Ricochet feuds with Adam Cole next for the NXT North American Title.
3) Shayna Baszler Will Defeat Nikki Cross (Also, It Will Be The Best Match Of Baszler’s Career So far)
Shayna Baszler will defend her NXT Women’s Championship in Chicago against Nikki Cross. Baszler is still pretty new in her pro-wrestling career and has been booked strongly so far.
I think that this match against Cross will be the best of Baszler’s career. Cross is extremely talented and I think they will mesh very well.
No doubt in my mind that Baszler will be retaining the Title though. I think Cross’ time in NXT is limited and she will be joining SANITY on Smackdown soon.
