AJ Lee was recently interviewed by Chuck Carroll of CBS Local Sports. She has been making the media rounds recently to promote her new book: ‘Crazy Is My Superpower: How I Triumphed by Breaking Bones, Breaking Hearts, and Breaking the Rules’.

AJ was asked how she feels about the current Women’s division in WWE and how much it has grown since she left the company.
AJ says that she is proud of all of the Women and is happy that they are getting more television time:
“That’s all I ever wanted for the industry while I was there and for all the wonderful women after I was gone. There are a lot of really great girls who are still there that I was really fortunate enough to work with or have their tryout matches. I just want the best for them and I’m so happy that they’re getting their time. That’s all that we could ever hope or fight for. I’m so proud of them”
With this added amount of screen time and opportunity for the Women’s roster, AJ calls for equal pay for the female talent:
“I hope they’re also getting paid as much as the guys since they’re seen as just as important. I hope that they’re also getting paid because that’s half the battle, honestly”

I agree they should probably get paid more… but equal…? sorry. that’s like saying WNBA players should get paid as much as NBA players. they don’t drive the bulk of the revenue. college football pays for all the women’s sports, except maybe UConn women bball.
*as a side note: I would say that someone like charlotte should probably make more than titus o’neil. she definitely provides more to the program than he does or most of the jobbers in the back. you really would need to take it on a case by case basis, and use many factors to determine ones value/pay – merch, ratings, etc…
I know all that sounds sexist, but it’s the truth. unless you could prove the women are as valuable (w/out just saying it) you may have a point. but even quarterly ratings would be tough to contrast because it could simply be people tuning in and out.
you would really need a men’s show and a women’s show for a fair and equal contrast.
