Many fans have been asking why AJ Styles hasn’t been wrestling much on Smackdown Live as of late. We have seen him on commentary for the past few weeks. For those wondering, AJ is NOT injured and has been working live events at full speed.

It turns out that there might be a strategic reason why AJ hasn’t been used much on Smackdown Live as of late.
According to Dave Meltzer, AJ is being saved by WWE for the dark matches after Smackdown (and 205 Live) goes off the air. This is to make sure that the crowd doesn’t leave the arena during or before 205 Live:

As noted prior, AJ worked the dark match this week alongside several other big names on Smackdown live.
