AJ Styles Injury Update – The Latest On What He Might Be Dealing With

Wrestling fans received a scare after word started making the rounds about a potential injury to AJ Styles. Information has been scarce but Styles himself has said that he would work on one leg if he had to in order to face Shinsuke Nakamura at Wrestlemania 34.

We have an update on the injury to Styles and some speculation to share on what he could be dealing with.

The good news is that Styles wrestled at live events this past weekend. He teamed with the New Day in a few 8-man tag team matches. Styles didn’t wrestle much in the matches but the fact that he was involved is a great sign.

Dave Meltzer spoke about the injury to Styles on Wrestling Observer Radio (subscribe here). Meltzer speculates that it could be an MCL injury but it’s not confirmed. Here is a quote (via Ringside News):

“He’s hurt but I don’t think there is any big problem with him doing the match since he worked all weekend. They did SmackDown eight-man tag matches, with AJ teaming with The New Day in the main events. He didn’t do much in the ring. He was there and did wrestle which means he was cleared. There is nothing for him to worry about in doing the match. Knowing him and the fact that it’s WrestleMania, even if he’s on one leg he’s going to have a great match with Nakamura. My presumption is it’s an MCL injury but it’s still not confirmed.”
