Aleister Black recently lost his NXT Championship to Tommaso Ciampa. We have some bad news to pass along. According to a new report, Black recently suffered an injury that required him to have surgery.
This report comes from Dave Meltzer in his daily update for f4wonline. He says that Black was injured at NXT’s live event in Las Vegas over the weekend.
Here is a quote from Meltzer on what happened:
“Aleister Black is out of action due to an injury that required surgery after he was crotched by Tommaso Ciampa at the house show in Las Vegas this past Saturday night. We don’t have a recuperation time yet but the Takeover show would at least on paper seem awfully quick. We were only told that he would be okay but it was quite scary when it happened”
This is very bad timing since it looks like we were heading towards Aleister Black vs Tommaso Ciampa vs Johnny Gargano in the main event of NXT Takeover: Brooklyn. Hopefully, this injury doesn’t force Black to miss the event.
