Samoa Joe was someone who was rumored to be moving over to Monday Night RAW in the Superstar Shake-Up. This was due to him recently starting a feud with Braun Strowman. This would have meant Joe would have brought the United States Championship with him to the brand.
This didn’t end up happening on RAW this week. We have an interesting backstage note to pass your way though.
In an interesting twist, Joe was reportedly supposed to appear on RAW this week but an illness changed those plans. Below is a quote from Dave Meltzer:
“We were also told that Samoa Joe is there but was reported as being very sick and the segment written for him has been removed from the show”
If this is true, this means that Joe may have been originally planned to move over to the red brand in the Shake-Up. That would have also meant that Finn Balor would have probably been moving over to Smackdown Live with the Intercontinental Championship. It’s not out of the question for Balor to show up on Smackdown so we will have to wait and see.
