WWE announced last week that they were releasing Austin Aries from the company. This was news that shocked the wrestling world as he was just coming off some great matches for the Cruiserweight Championship against Neville.

There were plenty of rumors circulating about his release. Regardless of what happened between him and WWE, they cut ties with one another and will be going their separate ways.
Aries released a statement on Twitter on Friday afternoon. Here is what he said:
“I’d like to thank WWE for the opportunity to perform for the amazing fans of the WWE Universe. I’d also like to thank the extremely talented and hard working people of WWE, whom I had the pleasure to work, both in front of and behind the camera. I wish them continued health, happiness and success as I move on to new endeavors.”

Aries will have to wait 90 days before he is able to work elsewhere. We will keep you updated if we hear any rumblings about the next step in his career.
