Backstage News On The Original Plans For Seth Rollins On RAW & Why They Were Changed

Seth Rollins officially aligned with AOP on this week’s episode of Monday Night RAW. Rollins also cut a great promo on the episode.

According to Dave Meltzer of F4WOnline, WWE changed the plans for Seth after he suffered an injury this past weekend.

Meltzer says that Rollins suffered a broken finger during a recent WWE live event match. He was supposed to face Cedric Alexander on RAW but those plans were scrapped due to the injury.

Here is what Meltzer wrote:

Seth Rollins suffered a broken little finger in a street fight match with Erick Rowan on Sunday night in Augusta, Georgia and was pulled from a match on last night’s Raw.

Rollins was originally scheduled to work a match on Raw last night against Cedric Alexander. There was talk of him doing a match with Kevin Owens at TLC on Sunday but that match was never finalized and as of this morning was not on updated listings for the card.

Rollins made a comment in his first promo regarding an injury but it was not a talking point as part of the storyline because the injury isn’t serious and it served no purpose in storyline since the show was built around his heel turn. The Alexander match was scheduled to be a step in the heel turn but Rollins was pulled from the show.

WWE officials say Rollins has been cleared to perform with the injury going forward.

The good news comes from the final line of Meltzer’s report. Seth has been cleared to perform with the injury, meaning that it won’t keep him out of action for any period of time.
