We have some backstage news to pass your way about the Royal Rumble PPV, which takes place tonight. This comes via Mike Johnson of PWInsider.
Johnson says that WWE has moved the WWE Women’s Tag Team Title match to the kickoff show at the event. It will be Asuka and Charlotte Flair vs Nia Jax and Shayna Baszler.
The Women’s Royal Rumble match is currently planned to take place during the middle of the show. The Men’s Royal Rumble match is currently planned to be the main event:
The WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship Match has been moved to the Royal Rumble Kickoff Show, PWInsider.com has confirmed.
Asuka and Charlotte Flair will defend against Shayna Baszler and Nia Jax.
Regarding the main event, the current plan is for the Men’s Royal Rumble match to close the Rumble PPV tonight, PWInsider.com has confirmed.
The Women’s Rumble is currently slated for the middle of the PPV.
