There were three Women’s matches at Money in the Bank on Sunday night. Carmella defended her Smackdown Women’s Title against Asuka. Ronda Rousey challenged Nia Jax for the RAW Women’s Title. There was also the Women’s Money in the Bank ladder match.

We have some backstage tidbits to pass your way about the 3 Women’s matches. This comes via Dave Meltzer in the latest Wrestling Observer Newsletter (subscribe here).
According to Meltzer, the Women’s Money in the Bank ladder match was put together by Tyson Kidd and Fit Finlay (Meltzer notes that it was mostly Kidd). WWE took all of the participants off the road this past weekend in order to rehearse the match. This also explains why there were no Women’s matches at WWE live events over the weekend (which some fans in attendance were unhappy with).
The Ronda-Nia match was put together by Fit Finlay. According to Meltzer, the match was also practiced over the weekend.
Carmella vs Asuka was not rehearsed ahead of time like the other two.
