One of the biggest matches at TLC will be for the Smackdown Women’s Championship. Becky Lynch will defend her Title against Charlotte Flair and Asuka. This will be the first-ever Women’s TLC match.
Asuka earned her way into the match after winning a battle royal on Smackdown Live.
Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful provided some interesting insight into why Asuka was added to the match at TLC.
According to Sapp, Asuka’s current push and position have a lot to do with the crowd reaction that she received a few weeks ago. Asuka received the loudest crowd reaction when Becky chose Charlotte as her replacement for Survivor Series.
Sapp says that Vince McMahon was caught off guard with the crowd reaction to Asuka. Vince didn’t expect Asuka to get a louder reaction than Charlotte. As a result, he saw the opportunity to add her into the mix at TLC in the Women’s Championship match.
